Project completed June 2024.
Interior designer: Annie Wearn at ABDA
Contractors: Murray and Willis
AWARDS - wallpaper shortlisted for Hotel Designs Brit List 'Best in British Product Design' 2024
The Monkey Puzzle Tree supplied wallpaper for 29 bedrooms and suites in the Hilton Double Tree hotel in Leeds Centre.
For this commercial hospitality project, Annie Wearn of ABDA Design was looking for a memorable design to reflect the creativity of the local area.
Sustainability was also a consideration for the project with many of the room elements sourced locally and elements of the rooms including fitted furniture to be reused from the previous design.
‘Charlotte has a wealth of knowledge and a wonderfully creative mind.
I absolutely love the Disorder in Stasis print, it sat in perfect alignment with my narrative for the design and really makes the suites. We’ve received lots of wonderful feedback from the Client & Hotel already.
When picking out a design for using at the Hilton Doubletree Leeds I needed the wallpaper to meet the brand guidelines criteria. Charlotte adapted the wallpaper to suit the specification and even adapted the design to fit the different drops required in the suites making the hanging process easier for the installer and also less wastage – win-win!!
I look forward to working again with Charlotte on future projects’ - Annie Wearn of ABDA Design
Our ‘Disorder in Stasis - Passerine’ wallpaper was chosen for this project with the original panel designs by artist Joel Weaver adapted to fit the brief.
Original Suite before refurb:
Charlotte used the architectural plans to adapt the original panel designs to perfectly fit the room layouts and minimise wastage.
Commercial grade wallpaper was selected to be wipeable and low maintenance.
An Operations and Maintenance manual was created to accompany the project including installation information and all conformity and fire certification for the project.
Charlotte worked closely with interior design firm ABDA and contractors Murray and Willis, supervising the install on site to make sure the project ran smoothly.
The wallpaper creates a stunning and memorable focus in the luxurious new rooms, pared with dark panelling and luxurious velvet curtains.
